It’s New Year’s Eve folks! “Where has the time gone?” I hear you say.
2011 has been a big year for the Book Review Sisters. We started this blog in April, not sure what we were really doing with it. Initially we were aiming to be more cultured by attempting to read all the books on the BBC Big Read Top 100. Well, that quest didn’t last long and in 6 months we have not ticked off a single book from that list (that we hadn’t already ticked off). The way I look at it, reading is for enjoyment. If I don’t enjoy the book, why torture myself with it?
It didn’t take us long to move into doing book reviews on genres we love. This year we’ve posted nearly 50 reviews, which is not bad considering we started reviewing in May and both Jess and I have very young kids to keep us busy.
In May we had 193 hits, and August was a turning point which saw us jump to more than 600 hits. December we have recorded our busiest month yet with in excess of 1400 hits! Thank you to all our readers for coming along to our blog, I don’t think we ever imagined 10 people would be visiting us 🙂
The top 10 countries our visitors have come from are:
- United States
- Australia
- Ukraine
- Germany
- United Kingdom
- Russia
- Canada
- Romania
- Netherlands
- Malaysia
We hope we can continue to bring you interesting reviews and musings throughout 2012 🙂
Every year is different, and every year different to everyone. Some years are delightful, some eventful and some years you are more than happy to say goodbye to. But we hope that no matter what sort of year you’ve had, you are able to look back and see that God has been at work in your life. He is holding you when you sorrow, guiding you when you are lost, smiling when you are rejoicing, providing when you are in need.
“For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the LORD, “plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Helen is a strange combination of fiction editor and web strategist. That’s because she loves fiction and the internet – and analytics! A former business analyst and IT support manager, Helen now spends her time parenting her three children as well as running her editing and web agency businesses. Fantastic effort, ladies. I wish you both and your families a very happy 2012.
Thank you Paula! And I pray that you and your family will enjoy many blessings in 2012 🙂
