This cover jumps out at me. Though the water is not rushing like the title suggests, the scene before us is beautiful! I love the background – it feels so peaceful. The girl’s dress really draws the eye without being over powering. Based on this cover; I want to read this book.
What do you think?

Jess’ favourite genre is contemporary women’s fiction and contemporary romance fiction. She also enjoys historical fiction with a focus on romance. She loves books set in country towns or farms with a cowboy featured in either historical or contemporary settings.
She is currently writing her first novel, a contemporary women’s fiction/romance set in a small country town.

Jess is a mum of two children and married to the calmest man alive. She loves to bake and go for walks. A writer of contemporary romance, Jess write stories about the heart and where love is worth the journey.
I love this cover too. However, I think the interpretation could go either way. Is it a peaceful scene OR is she watching a storm brewing and imagining the harm that could come from the damage of the storm. Hmmm. We have nasty storms (50 – 60 mph winds) come through where we live, so I think my imagination is working overtime. Another one is coming tomorrow…… I have not heard of this author, so thanks for introducing her to us.
Hi Mary,
I read Catherine's debut novel last year Spring for Susannah and really enjoyed it. I personally prefer this novel cover to her first one. So I'm really looking forward reading this book as the cover looks good and the blurb sounds good! 🙂
Hello, Book Review Sisters! I'm so glad you like my cover!
Thomas Nelson's cover artists are the best! They used some location photos I took, from where the Niobrara River flows into the Missouri, for the background. I think the scene shows the incident where my very proper heroine responded to an emergency – without the hair styling and petticoats required in 1877. Mary's right – a stormy moment. I hope you enjoy the story!
Blessings
Hi Cathy, thanks for dropping by! It's so cool that they used one of your location shots! So very exciting, I'm looking forward to reading the book and reviewing it! 🙂
