Yep I must be mad I’ve signed up for NaNoWriMo! Never thought I’d do something like that…ever. However, this might be just the thing to force to me write. What usually happens with me is that I do some writing for a few weeks, then I come across something that stumps me about the story. It might have something to do with character, plot or a bit of research and suddenly I’m sidetracked. I end up becoming obsessed with what has stumped me to the point where I can no longer move forward with my writing.
So NaNoWriMo is just the kick I need to get me going and MAKE sure I push past those aspects of the story that can be fixed later.
My goal is to write at least 500 words per day. Anything more than that I am considering a bonus!
Have you joined in the madness? What’s your goals?

She is currently writing her first novel, a contemporary women’s fiction/romance set in a small country town.

Jess is a mum of two children and married to the calmest man alive. She loves to bake and go for walks. A writer of contemporary romance, Jess write stories about the heart and where love is worth the journey.
Jess, I'm so glad your participating! This is my first year joining the madness too, and while I'm aiming to finish my draft before the end of November, I'm relaxing my goal to 1000 words a day. Writing with others is fun, and free motiviation. 😉
You've set yourself a massive goal Gwen! 🙂 1000 words a day is a great amount. I'm aiming for 500+ per day. Yes, writing with others is fun and motivating! Heaven knows we all need each other! 🙂
PS – really hope you achieve your goal! 😀
It's amazing how motivated you can get when you're writing with others. I found the same thing when I did Seekerville's writing month in March. At that time I stunned myself by reaching 20K. I'll be thrilled if I get 30K for NaNo.
500 per day is still a big deal – you'll finish a book in 3-4 months! That's good going!
Well done so far!! I did Nano three years ago and I applaud anyone who takes on the challenge. Can't wait to hear about your results. 🙂
Thanks Dorothy! 🙂
